General Class Information

We will be working on Word Study words each week. We will get 10 new words on Monday and will take a test over these words that Friday. However, some of the weeks we will not test over them, this will just depend on how the students absorb the information and how often we get to work on these words throughout the week in class. We will test over at least three of these Word Studies per nine weeks.

Word Study will be what I usually have them do as homework, however I like to use the word "practice" instead. Sometimes I feel that the word homework can scare some people and turn them away from wanting to do that work, so I like to say that we have practice throughout the week that they do on their own time. This tends to help those students who are hesitant to do work at home!

Also, we will be going to the computer lab once a week to work on IStation. This means that every student needs to have a pair of headphones that can plug into a desktop computer with them on those days. I will be more than happy to keep your child's headphones at school if they are able to fit them into a Ziploc bag and I will label it with their name and keep them in my room. This way the headphones are always available and kept safe.
