About Me

My education career began in 2003 and I have been teaching ever since then. After 10 years teaching in the classroom, I continue the challenge and adventure of providing reading intervention. I am the Dyslexia Specialist at Smith Elementary in Magnolia ISD.  In my years teaching, I have taught Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, Second grade and now provide Dyslexia intervention across Elementary grade levels. Experience teaching EC-2 has given me so many opportunities to challenge and meet my students' needs in reading, math and more. It is very rewarding to take these skills into full time intervention for students with Dyslexia and related reading difficulties.

Apart from educating, I was born and raised in Texas and earned my BA at the University of Texas Pan American.  I completed a continuation of my education by pursuing a Masters degree in Reading and Literacy. I am a wife and mother as well.  My husband and I have three wonderful children, 4, 10, and 12 years old.  We enjoy going to the movies, watching football, playing soccer, reading and taking trips.  My hobbies include crafting, reading and watching movies.  My daughter is attending 7th grade this school year.  My second child is attending 4th grade while our youngest is in Pre-Kindergarten.

It brings me joy to continue working with your child to help them grow in literacy and learning.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know my new students every year and hope to inspire and make a positive difference in their lives.
